My 7 Favorite Books on Intuition for Creatives

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne first introduced me to the power of intuition and manifestation. Since I got my hands on The Secret at 15 years old, I’ve gravitated towards books on intuition and creativity, and how they are interconnected. And I want to share some of my favorites with you!

The power of educating yourself on the powers of following your gut while creating your form of art is indescribable. Learn how to harness your intuition and improve your creativity by reading the following books on intuition.

1. The Secret by Rhonda Byrne

If you’re just getting into intuition and manifestation, I always recommend starting with The Secret. Here you’ll learn the foundational terminology and learn how to bring these practices to life. This book doesn’t dive into creativity necessarily, but you can apply these practices to your passion projects, career and any creative goals and aspirations you have.

2. The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron

The Artist’s Way beautifully marries intuition and creativity together. Surprisingly, this is a recent read of mine and I can’t believe I have lived my life for so long without it. I fell in love with this book because it provides tangible tips and exercises that strengthen your intuition to improve your craft. If The Intuitive Creative was a book, this would be IT!

3. Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert

Elizabeth Gilbert, the author of Eat, Pray, Love, wrote this brilliant book about the magic of creativity and how to live a creative lifestyle. This book touches on so many different topics, but my favorite is her dialogue on releasing your limiting beliefs and fears on creating. This book is easily digestible and feels like you’re talking to a friend. 10/10 would recommend.

4. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

While this may be a fictional book, its message is anything but. Follow along the journey of a young shepherd who goes on a grand adventure and finds himself along the way. After reading this one, you’ll find yourself, too, and walk away with many important life lessons. The Alchemist is one of my favorite books I’ve ever read.

5. Practical Intuition by Laura Day

Want to develop your intuitive abilities? Practical Intuition is basically a workshop book for aspiring, beginner intuitives. Each of Laura’s exercises help unlock and strengthen your intuition. This book truly gave me the confidence to trust in myself and my inner voice!

6. The Universe Has Your Back by Gabrielle Bernstein

While anything Gabby Bernstein touches turns to gold, The Universe Has Your Back is a pure gem in the rough. I recommend picking up this read if you have been feeling a lack of control in your life, fearful of the future or lost or directionless. This book helps you learn how to transform your pain into happiness, not only in yourself, but with the world around you.

7. The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield

The Celestine Prophecy is like The Alchemist’s older sister. This book followed me around for a bit. Whenever I went to a bookstore, this book on intuition was always there—almost as if it was meant to find me. (Which is how it finds most people.) It’s an adventure-style novel with a heavy emphasis on spiritual awakenings and becoming your highest self.
